How We Do It

REBUILD PROCEDURE
Medium Voltage Circuit Breaker Rated 5KV, 7.2KV or 15KV.

All breakers are completely rebuilt and tested in accordance with the following procedure:
  • Complete disassembly of breaker.
  • Inspection of each part for physical integrity per manufacturer's specifications.
  • Worn parts replaced.
  • Close inspection of the operation of the breaker's main arcing contacts to insure that all springs responsible for maintaining primary contact pressure are in good condition.
  • Base painted.
  • All parts repainted, replaced and/or reinsulated as required.
  • Arc chutes inspected.
  • All wiring inspected and replaced if needed (based on original wiring diagram).
  • Fully lubricate breaker.
  • Breaker reassembled according to manufacturer's specifications.
  ELECTRICAL TEST TO INCLUDE
  • Measure contact resistance.
  • Perform minimum pickup voltage tests on trip and close coils.
  • Perform insulation resistance tests; pole to pole, pole to ground and across open pole.
  • If charging motors are used, check condition of brushes and limit switches.
  • Perform over-potential test, or power factor test with breaker in open and closed position. Includes (optional) testing of all arc chutes for watts loss.
  • All rebuilt breakers will be returned in equal to new condition with a two (2) year guarantee.
REBUILD PROCEDURE
Low Voltage Air Circuit Breakers Rated 240 VAC, 480VAC or 600VAC

All breakers are completely rebuilt and tested in accordance with the following procedure:

  • Complete disassembly of breaker.
  • Inspection of each part for physical integrity per manufacturer's specifications.
  • Worn parts replaced.
  • Close inspection of the operation of the breaker's main arcing contacts to insure that all springs responsible for maintaining primary contact pressure are in good condition.
  • Base painted.
  • All parts repainted, replaced and/or reinsulated as required.
  • Trip units removed and inspected, dashpots cleaned and refilled with proper oil.
  • Complete wiring inspection of all electrically operated breakers.
  • Fully lubricate breaker.
  • Breaker reassembled per manufacturer's specifications.
  ELECTRICAL TEST TO INCLUDE
 
  • Measure contact resistance.
  • Perform minimum pickup voltage tests on trip and closed coils.
  • Long time delay shall be determined by primary injection at 300% pickup current.
  • Short time delay determined by primary injection.
  • Instantaneous pickup current determined by primary injection. All primary injection tests will adhere to the manufacturer's original specifications.
  • Trip unit reset will be verified.
  • Charging motors of electrically operated breakers to be opened and inspected for brush damage.
  • All rebuilt breakers will be returned in equal to new condition with a two (2) year guarantee.
